Hello. I'm buying myself a new chipper, l was going to get a tw150 (almost about to sign a deal) but then noticed the 150 greenmech. The greenmech is £600 more, I was going to go for a tw, only because I run a 125.

I thought greenmech cost a lot more, it seems not, I'm toying with changing my mind.

I know this sounds like the usual Tw vs Gm debate but I think I need to make my mind up pretty fast.

Opinions please - mainly ease of use, servicing, blade change and bearing replacement hrs on average (I do fire wood so won't get hammerd) also they ok to run in 'the cherry'

Cheers. Let chipper battle commence

Forst costs about 17k plus vat I think. The office did the maths. 3 years parts and labour warranty.

Think about the after care. Who is nearest to you. When bits fall off whichever chipper you get, and bits will fall off, how quickly can you get the thing up and running again.

The answer to above then is tw up the toon airport or greenmech (Oliver's in durham) right next to mine. That my friend is an idea too. Thanks.

I thinking 150 Gm new or looking at the quadchip at masons

Another vote for GM here. Performance issues aside, it's like you're buying into a working relationship as well as the machine with them, they're just as attentive with our 2005 petrol arborist as they are our brand spanking quadchip.

The quad chip at masons is my old one I traded with forst, its a bit over priced now as a brand new one is 15k I think. The quad chip is a good machine but a pita to service as its so compact. Forst is 16k plus vat. Great machine and well built.
