Hi All,

My 3.0 NKR has been amazing up untill very recently, it now is massively down on power, throttle response is very slow, white/grey smoke and sounds like it's miss firing at circa 2000 rpm.

I changed the diesel filter this morning hoping it could have just been a blocked filter but no such luck :/

Sound like the turbo is not boosting as much as it should be....

I'm fairly sure it's a fueling issue, possibly the SCV valve or ORPS.

Anyone got any experience with kind of issue/engine??

Thanks all

white smoke is generally over fuelling. Could you have a split hose after the turbo?

The air has been metered in so diesel is added to match but the air is leaking through the split hose leading to over fuelling.

i had similar on my 3.0 rodeo turned out the EGR valve has a water jacket which split which then let water into the cylinders

also if no turbo boost this can be the Air mass sensor failed

Love these threads!

We all love engines and want to help. These lumps of metal, built to tolerances finer than our own bodies, controlled by computer and sensors and yet we can diagnose from the colour of the smoke! !

We're brilliant at producing lists of diesel engine faults!

I'd see if white smoke is steam by holding something cold by exhaust. Look for condensation. To me it's fuel so I'd say add injectors to the list.

I look for the simple obvious things if that fails get a diagnostic done which always says you need to replace most of it costing £3000. Laugh and look for the simple obvious things now you have a few more clues.

Injector problem probably a bad spray pattern or one sticking open, get a diagnostic check it should give you a clue and the fault codes will need removing if they show up.
