Attaching a vice to a chipper

On our TW 190 we have a vice on the engine lift up flap, it works well for us.

 

that sound like a good spot, once fitted one to the mudguard of mine, was ok until i whacked my knee on it.

was reluctant to fit higher , didnt want filings all over machine.

did you fit anything to collect the filings? come to think of it a couple of well placed magnets might work

I use a log vice on mine but basically cut the spikes off and bolted angle on to the bottom and bolted to front of chipper.

Tbh works very well and IMO better than a proper vice

 

I like this idea, will give it a go, cheers mate.
