so you dont loose it, and it allways there with out needing attach it to the chain ps with the horse i am often using it every minute

 

Doesnt it dangle around and get caught up when you're pulling the wood out?

We have ended up with a universal chain that does pretty much every thing from dragging timber to lifting and chaining down loads. They do all the jobs we need a chain for, if you need a choke just form a loop and if you need to extend just tag another on, £15 ish for a 14` long chain is not bad. They have a rating but we have never managed to break a chain or shortener, we must have about 20 of them.
