Going back to my query about a kohler engine on page 25 of this thread. I cannot find any serial number on the engine of my Turner flail mower. It does have a serial number on the Turner machine. Amfell put me in the right direction, though I have not managed to bring up any distinctive feature to identify. Im only after a governor and carb spring. Do all the K series have their own or is their only a couple of variants? I dont mind buying 4 springs say to try. I can take photos of whatever shows a distinction.

Thanks

Be sure to get the right battery for YOUR machine as MTD use lots of different sizes.

Also make sure you order the right terminals and the right way round so your leads will fit.

It will be expensive but an MTD dealer should be able to get your the right one as a none gen and so cheaper than MTD.

I have worked one MTD machines for many years.

All the best

Eddie

Looks like the same engine as the one fitted to the howard 350 rotavator, there should be plenty of info on them. K181 rings a bell but its only a guess.

Im back again. does anybody know where I can source Kohler parts. It is the K181 that 2 stroke ady mentions I can only find moderner engines online in the uk. I have tried DIYspares as I am hoping to compile an order to them shortly. I have spent a few hours browsing websites just to confirm the type variant and carb type.

We have had a run of sales lately which have resulted in some very tidy PX machines.

But this one tops it all.

Not so much a PX as bought in machine. I sold it 18 months ago but the guy never used it. He bought it on a whim, but carried on using his walk behind mower, so this week he asked me to buy it back. Don't see them like this often.
