Husq 365 X-Torq modding

Thanks for the help but does anyone have an answer for the carb tuning question?

It's unlikely it will need much alteration, mine was fine "as was", although I go by the "sound of it method", listening for the four strokeing crackle.

 

If you prefer to do it correctly and by the book, you will need a tacho and reset the hi jet according to the manufacturers spec. Neither of which I have unfortunately, but perhaps someone else may have the max RPM for you, then you can either buy or beg a tacho. Even with these, I would say at most it will only need a slight bit out on the high jet, nothing major.

What do people think the power increase is by doing this? Would it be the same power as the 372?

 

Also, my 365 is about a year old - does anyone know what the warranty period is as I assume this will well and truly bugger it!

2 years for husky, also the carb has limiters fitted, so pop a new plug in, cut for about 5 mins and check the colour, it should need no more than 1/8 of a turn either way

Look for carbide burr in google. If the rotary tool is variable speed turn it up to top speed and don't use much pressure let the tool do the work. Wear good protection as well as they make sharp splinters.

 

got the carbide burrs in post today. great advice they worked an absolute treat and now my 365 x torq has a whole lot more poke! Ive not fiddled with the tuning at all but it seems to be a hell of a lot more responsive and accelerates quickly and just screams

Sorry for redirecting this but do you need to replace any gaskets when doing this mod to a new 365?

No need to replace any gaskets - or at least there wasn't when I did mine, which was about 2 years old. As long as all the mating surfaces are clean, and the gaskets haven't been damaged during removal, it'll all go back together fine.

I've just done mine , got it back together and seems quite improved . Only tried it on some softish old chestnut so far but got some well seasoned oak and ash for a proper test next . I'd say it's more responsive and screams a bit , where before it was a bit flat .

 

Although I've had saws for over 30 yrs I'd never even taken a muffler off before so quite chuffed with myself , didn't find it easy as not mechanically minded but if I can do it anyone can .
