Rigging an oak stub

Here was todays job... I couldnt make it anymore interesting without a crane or helicopter :blushing: Its just treework. Thats what we all do right :)

 

(The stein doesnt come out too often and it shows with my excellent groundsman having maybe 1 too many wraps. We get the job done.)

Nice footage Ben, looks bitter though. Cold fingers I'll bet.

 

You could almost take a flask up in the bucket, no ?

 

Heavy wood, solid too by the looks. To loose one of those chunks, with the truck right under and house beside would've been, expensive!

 

After the second/third log, I think you should've come down and took control of the rigging line, show that fella how to chill out and stop hanging on to it.

 

In the absence of a climber, flip-lines and what-not, it would also make sense to snug your sling and block right up within an inch or two of the face-cut. Would put things a little more in your favour, at no extra effort....especially with the dude seemingly intent on shock-loading every log.
