I ve seen guys on here saying they would rather buy a used Stihl or husky than a new saw from the lesser known make ,I find it hard to believe is better to buy a used saw which you have no history of than a new saw which you ve looked after from day one.

I've bought several saws off ebay. All been good and no surprises. But you need to be savvy and not buy from a first timer whose selling it for a friend!!! Lots of pictures, having sold saws before and don't expect something for nothing. Have an email chat with them and if you have any doubts then don't bid. If you can find a seller you trust then all to the better.

Obviously depends on what your using it for and how frequently etc.

Heavier use you want to be looking at a better quality "professional" model whereas if your only using it a few times a year a cheaper homeowner saw would suffice.

Im sure others will advise but professional model from stihl would be the ms260/261 or homeowner the ms250

Professional husqy you will have to go slightly smaller or larger than 50cc with the 346xp or 357xp whereas homeowner models like the 350 or 353.
