Timberwolf 150 DHB or Greenmech Arborist 150

Hi, I hope some other members can help me make a decision I am planning to purchase a new chipper and have been looking at a Timberwolf 150 DHB and a Greenmech Arborist 150, I have used a Timberwolf 150 DHB but have just tested for the day a Greenmech Arborist 150 which was very good and very quite so I was impressed, please can anyone give feedback on the GreenMech after using it for a number of months and on how you have found the disc blades function & durability compared to standard blades. I may work for GreenMech, but I did own two of them back 1990's. Am I therefore biased?

I moved from an Entec (timberwolf) to a Greenmech quadchip 13 months ago. Blades on average last 4 times longer and then they just need a turn not a change therefore 12 times longer between sharpens. Speed wise the Greenmech is loads faster. Aftersales wise PeteB was excellent when I had a minor issue bringing me a loan machine while mine went back to the factory to be sorted and the service lads at HQ are helpful with any questions you may have. I have to say I am disappointed with my 'local' dealer especially on price for servicing and Greenmech seem keen to not deal in service parts from Greenmech HQ. I haven't tried any other dealers though.

 

I'm happy with mine. A lot of my work is conifers and I could easily block the TW with wet conifer, something that hasn't happened in the 12 months I have used the GM.

I have had a greenmech 3 years now and I would not have any other make.

Greenmech for me, I've also had blockages with the TW. I will be upgrading my 27bhp petrol for a diesel one soon!

I've had 2 TW 150 and I love em, easy to look. Mine has only blocked once. I have never tried a greenmech so can't comment. I love my TW.

I think the Greenmech is the better machine, the other factor to consider is your local dealer, my advice is to get in touch with both of them and see how helpful they are.
