Kim @ Danequipt buddy always has spares send next day, machines are well priced, I'm on my second 27hp on green teeth and it it's only 227kg, 27 inches in width.

 

Get some finance towards £6-7000 minus your deposit £2-3000 if you have the work and don't buy any 2-3 grand second hand one, they tend to be utter crap.

 

The hb looks nice but it's too heavy at I believe 275-300 plus kg, for me every kg counts using an iveco 3.5 ton.

 

But those two are the best, and IMO the danequipt is for me that bit better.

i wouldnt waste yr money on any thing like a carlton n900 or simlar, back breaking & numb to use ,ok for poxys 5" conny stumps ,thats it after that there hard work ,

 

yr probaly better of hireing a 20/25hp powerd grinder ,as & wen needed imo

Do you guys notice a big difference between finger teeth and green teeth then? Been wondering about changing but not if the difference is tiny

I have a Bandit Sidewinder too, I have also used pretty much all the other ped grinders other have mentioned.

Guess what there is no comparison. My opinion.

There are 5 types of grinders. In my opinion.

The small Rayco and carlton 900, for me too small, and most of the other tree guy I know

The larger ped grinders 27hp plus, better but heavy and hard to use.

The sidewinder, awesome, slim, powerful robust. For the money just great.

The small hydraulic grinders. Ok, need bigger engines but easy to use.

The big hydraulic grinders. The best but expensive and they can't get everywhere a ped can

 

I think my perfect set up would be a sidewinder and a hurricane, proper big grinder.

 

Ian do you have a lot of stump work, wouldn't hire be a good way to start then get a better one when funds available increase??????

Hi Horatio there are not many places that hire stumpgrinders in suffolk/norfolk area and the cost of getting to a decent one in fuel and time means we wouldn't break even on the day unless we charge a high rate which will mean we won't get the work.
