I always switch out from the winch to the bollard if we are lowering for a while and dont need to lift. I like to think that there is less wear on the winch drum that way! I'm surprised to hear that everybody doesn't do it!

Yeah me too man , we chop and change all the time .

I don't think that doing massive snatches on the winch is the best and the excess wear effects the winching power after a while

I will be switching the winch out every time we drop load wood, Purely for lifting and tbh it's so easy to do takes 31 seconds 1 being the time to process the need to switch ha.

 

Used it today did a slit level cut and just popped it off from the top, can't wait to go pro it in use.

There can be positives to drop loading timber onto the winch as you can pull out slack as the piece goes over on the one way bearing, although I've rarely found the need and will use the bollard.

Agree mate but my explanation was towards the new double plate!! I've not met a grcs owner who's used the bollard yet!!
