How well does a 395 run with 36inch bar?

Just got a 395 and only using a 24in bar atm. Just wondering what it's like running a 36? And is it worth getting anything done to the saw?

Obviously it wont be as lively as on a 24 but mine lives on a 36" .404 and pulls it well . Any porting work is of benefit whatever the bar length .

I run mine on a Sugihara 36" 3/8 from time to time and it's fine on it , goes well . But I think it's best on a 28" , just my opinion .

Deffo more grunt than my old 066 .

Used a 36" bar on my 395 for the past couple of years, dropped some big 4ft + trees with it without a hitch.. Have just gone up to a 44", the chain was expensive plus a ripping chain. Hope this answers your query, Nick Pearson, Timberline-Roe Ltd.

I've just replaced the clutch on my 395 but that's all it runs and is about 7 years old ,with one rebuild and port job by spud.
