Here is the feed roller spring I was going on about

 

 

The spring goes onto the eye on the end of a 3" thread.

 

There is no access to the nut underneath it.

 

Can you see the nut? No? nor could I.

 

I guess as long as you do nothing that requires de-tensioning or re-tightening the spring there is nothing to worry about.

 

They are great chippers - obviously, as you rarely hearing anything bad about them.

Really good best buttons I have ever used.

Ive TR6 unit really pleased with it prior hired other makes but liked build quality of this machine only few niggles 1) no fuel gauge or easy way to check 2) Hydraulic oil came out of filler pipe when proper warmed up 3) Rubbish build up around top roller feed barrings shaft. Redwood say white tank due soon, found oil doesnt come out when hot if oil in tank when cold below line in sight glass. Cover plates to be retro fitted to stop debris build up. Redwood have phoned twice since purchase to check Im happy with machine and to keep me informed of developments and wanting my feedback. 2 months after purchase sent fitter out for free to check adjust hydraulics as they thought there might be a problem although I had not been aware so just let them do it!

First day out today and wow what a machine, v aggressive on the infeed and so easy to use. V impressed so far.
