If it's got a nice chunky looking trunk I would remove the Ivy and then make a next decision. (Make sure you've got a pair of Ripeur 2 gloves handy!)

Hi Dave, this is where i got mine, here ya go Ripeur 2 Leather puncture resistant glove :: Safety Hut : World class personal protective equipment for industry

 

Not many companies seem to be stocking them, so let us know if you find any cheaper.

 

Don't be put off by the price - they work brilliantly, apparently even better than welding gloves, and long lasting.
