Sorry to hear that Rik - sounds rough.

As far as I am aware, the paleo diet isn't really about weight loss - more just a healthy way of eating that our bodies are better at digesting than grains etc.

However, none of us are in a position to advise you how to approach this - you obviously need specialist advice to address your condition. Perhaps make an appointment with a nutritionist if the advice from traditional doctors isn't helpful enough.

Cheers paul, yeah i think your right, i think partly its going round my head a bit at the moment and im probably just stabbing out trying to find 'the perfect diet/cure' knowing that its not gonna be that simple... i think indeed a nutritionalist will be a good idea.... more of a specialist approach like you mention.. ill see how it pans out!

Having read this thread I guess I must be invincible - I eat carbs every day and I'm not unhealthy, unwell, or unalive. Perhaps I have 'evolved'...?

Seriously - if it works for you, great. However, just for the record it is entirely possible to eat non-paleo and be perfectly healthy. :D

Rik, I saw this the other day, it might have some information you could use... You maybe able to email the doc with some questions...? Pretty eye opening :)

Just bought some coconut flour. Want to make pancakes for breakfast to bulk it up a bit. Was thinking of using almond milk in combo with eggs to make the batter but can't find a recipe for that
