Steve I always thought black coffee was ok on a diet / life change apart from the caffeine ?

Yeah i think coffee is ok mate. Its coke and redbull im cutting out, which is just horrible stuff. I don't really drink much coffee, more likely tea if anything

Day 3 for me and I'm feeling ok - not had any of the 'withdrawal' symptoms described, but I have not given up coffee so perhaps I'm not doing it properly.

Our meals have been tasty and just about filling enough - the main thing I can see myself struggling with is breakfast as I've eaten muesli (which I always considered to be healthy!) pretty much every day for the last 20 years.

I'll keep going for a bit and see how I go - if it's too much of a pain in the neck I may just try going gluten free instead.

Exactly, the fact I feel rough makes me think there are real befits in making the change.

Its very strange that some feel the need to find fault with those making the change?? is it because they know they couldn't, but maybe think they should ?:sneaky2:

:001_smile:Not at all, if you are making the changes and feeling the benefits than good for you. My concerns were more with this particular method of dieting (paleo) and the perhaps single track mindedness of the people who invented in.

I feel absolutely need to go on a diet because I eat a healthy balanced menu, perhaps mainly vegetarian with smaller amounts of high quality meats , I never seem to suffer from blood sugar slumps, lack of energy or bloatedness, so feel no need to change anything, and that's including plenty of lentils/oats , I never eat fast food or any other crap.

We have surely evolved from that diet for a reason and really the bad processed foods have only come in in the last 50 years, which I have no doubt would cause symptoms described above.

Eat then! If you're hungry. Just make sure its good stuff, no crap. Coupla boiled eggs, some nuts, fruit.

I feel really great today, loads of energy, clear head, no shoulder pain (had it before paleo), am feeling the need for a deep tissue massage to aid things along too.
