Taking the east coast route adds 3hours but avoids the Peak District. I live about 5 miles off the google maps route. But if you divert near derby you end up coming through Swadlincote.

I'm 4 miles from the Forth Road Bridge and there are beds and food for you here. It's a fair old trek on a bike with the correct number of wheels, let alone a unicycle!

I did it last year in a Mk1 Escort. J O'Groats is an awfully long way!

It's still in the early stages of planning the route needs to take us via stafferton as some friends are organising a parachute jump for another charity. The only problem I can foresee is we all like a drink need a female to supervise.

I did it back in 2000 for cancer charity, we went from lands end to john o groats, the charity we done it for sorted out accomidation for us in different fire stations along the route, most of the bigger ones were happy to feed us as well, and up in Scotland in the smaller stations they put camp beds and caravans for us to sleep in, didn't cost us anything for digs but we had to buy food some nights, the route they planned for us was a bit of a scenic one so took a bit longer than normal, there is a more direct route but it uses some very busy roads and dual carriageways, (fergot to say we were cycling)

My brother did it in 2012, in 6 days. He's in the process of being a professional cyclist. Myself and my dad drove the journey and met them each night. Averaged 110 miles each day.

Don't know yet john two of the people involved are doing the north run another doing 14 marathons calling it fourteen in fourteen for Freddie quite catchy and then we got a ball and are annual festival in June so we have to fit it in around this.
