why no make one of these, saves moving to log along to cut it.

I bought one of those on ebay, very strongly made and only £30 it was a bargain. I couldn't buy the metal and weld it up for that much even though I have the tools. I have done a bit of modding on it and have some more planned but it works well.

I like it a lot . Seen a simpler one on here a few moths back . Great for the no need to split stuff . Only needs one bloke with a bit of better positioning . Think I would prefer it to a saw bench as your body is never in line with the cutting and your hands are away from it to . The chain only runs when a log is in there . Think I like it better than the one where you have to crank the saw up and down . As said sharp chain would help . I want one .

Or you trip and fall on a saw bench ...under a bus ....down the stairs ... If you trip and falln on this nothing will happen as the chain is not moving unless you have a log on it . If you trip on a saw bench its running all the time . . Dont get out of bed my friend !

A saw bench will have a guard over the cutter wheel, and you use a push stick to keep your hands out of mischief.

When you fall on that thing your body will take the place of the log and the chain will run.

Ok . Caution is best I suppose . I still would have no worries using one . Just me ..

A friend of mine fell onto his saw bench and only lost a finger and half, knackered him up for playing the guitar and the tin whistle in one fell swoop. Seriously could have bled to death if his lad hadn't found him passed out on the yard. If you fell on that and caught the trigger it would be an arm gone or torso cut into.
