Saw this on another site.

Has anyone shot one of these or even taken a picture of one?I understand that people were once allowed to keep predatory cats as pets in the UK,so perhaps there is a breeding population of them?

Why was the cat shot. ? Sad, if it was for sport. Never seen anything here, but I sometimes think when I,m out shooting, what would I do If I did see one in range and safe to shoot. I always come up with the same answer, I,d leave it well alone.

Here is a Gaupa (lynx)

 

This one was almost 20kg in weight.

They are seldom seen here in Norway apparantly,so this guy was lucky to bag one.

 

They are common around here....known to kill goats and sheep and other animals. Deer is their staple diet. Good hunters, and a bit of lust murderers. Friends lost all their goats to one of them, within a couple of days.:ohmy:

i agree with you that unless it's for the pot or for a good reason leave it living.

We have enough big cat sightings in kent Bluebell hill, Bredhurst, Boxley Burham and many more. see the kent messenger big cat diaries

whilst working on romney marsh in kent i saw some kind of big cat as we were forage harvesting the headlands of a maize field. myself and the other driver saw it, not sure on species but like in other posts there are numerous sightings in kent
