i take it the LM1 is manual push through down the track, or is it on a winding system?

any idea how much the LM15 would be, i am not bothered about the trailer package if they do it without if it makes it easier to ship.

just out of interest really, i wont be doing anything regarding buying one in the next few months at least.

Jonathan,

Do you have a price for the trailered package with deck loading arms, turning winch etc including import costs? 14HP should still be fine, my boss' Norwood runs that engine and cuts well. Cheers,

Rhob

About £6500 plus VAT for the trailer package. Cuts 16ft as standard.

Quite agree CSS - even fairly minor breakdowns can cost hundreds of pounds in lost income, before you even start to fix the issue!

Farmerjohn - it's push through the log, yes.

With the toe boards, about £11k plus VAT. It is a big beast though, and Ed is presently redesigning the head rig so that it's less wide and less long. 24 inch band wheels instead of 30s. Just trying to make it a bit more UK friendly!

Marcus - the exchange rate is fantastic at the moment. I'd be about £1500 better off if I'd ordered my mill now!

Bollocks!

The 30" :thumbup:bandwheels were my main reason for being attracted to the LM15

Seriously:thumbdown:

PS

On a more serious note, I know of 2 local NI engineering companies who each employ a degree educated Engineer, on "container stuffing"

(i) In respect of the optimium way of packing multiples of the same item.

(ii) The best mix of mixed items for each container

and

(iii) Subtle but significent engineering design and construction "tweeks" so as to facilitate optimium container utilization.

Simply because for any sizable Nothern Ireland based company it is a case of "export or die"

cheers

The guys at Logmaster are looking quite seriously on how to get the most they can into a high cube container.

The 30 inch band wheels are superb, but compared to 24s (which are still bigger than almost all the other mills on the market) they add a foot of width to the mill, which when towing is going to be difficult unless you have a very large tow vehicle. Don't forget that just once little clip of those band wheel housings by say, another vehicles wing mirror, could have serious consequences for the mill.
