That's a fair amount of log sales you are doing by the way. Are you doing that full time, with a processor?

We process logs that are our bi product from tree works with a tajfun 400 on the back of our tractor. When we order our bags we get bags that are specifically 1 cubic meter.

If you contact most sack makers they can supply these for roughly £300 per 100.

I split into our large barn and leave to dry whilst bagging logs from other piles in the barn which are dry.

It's difficult to eliminate the double handling and provide a quality dried log!

I would double check that,The cheapest actual cubic metre vented bags from bag supplies worked out to be about £7+vat from memory. I have had a few "bag/net" companies call me this year all saying they can supply me 1 cubic metre ton bags for £2.50/3 per bag when ordering over 100. They all turned out to be 850x850x850 bags when i asked for sizes of the bags. When telling them to do the simple math to work out they are definitely not a cubic metre bag they were all baffled! I was gobsmacked that these bag companies of which had very good websites selling a huge range of bags couldnt work it out. So thats why the firewood market quantities are all to s**t, because the people selling the bags havnt got a clue what they are selling.

Our supply is Dickson for sacks...always find there sizes to be accurate and they are very easy to deal with. I don't use vented bags as I bag the logs as required.

That's the way I prefer to work. I've noticed a lot more people selling them in crates but I find them a bit difficult for delivery purposes.
