Ear Defenders - Bluetooth? Any advice

Hi Chaps, I don't post much, but I was after advice.

 

Bluetooth Ear Defenders

Are they on the "allowed" list?

I know they might be a distraction but I mailnly work on my own.

 

Any recomendations?

Have you actually found a pair?

 

I'd love a pair for when I'm log splitting.

 

Currently using the earphones from the phone, just wedge them under my helmet cans

Husky did a set but they were about 200 quid. Built in radio and blue tooth for phone calls. I've got the radio type great when you log splitting

Hi there.

Ooops! No I haven't. I was using a normal set of headphones for log splitting but they weren't ideal. I foolishly thought the leap from headphones to ear defenders wouldn't be too bad. I was wrong. £400+ Even Husky at £200 is well beyond me.

I'll stick with ear plugs.

How are they a distraction? Music keeps me focused.

 

Why do you need BlueTooth? Get a pair of these for £38:

Run the lead down to your phone under your jumper in the winter. I use a cable with a mic/answer button halfway up that clips to my collar, and play tunes from the phone if I'm not talking on it. Sound quality excellent. They also do a pair with a built in radio:

 

Bilsom Radio HV Ear Defenders.

 

Whatever you get, make sure it's Howard Leight/Pulsafe/Sperian/Bilsom (it's a complicated distributor network!) You can get helmet mounts for them too if you look hard enough, let me know if you struggle. They knock the spots off Peltor etc, and are cheaper to boot.

Just had a look at the Husky ones- I had a pair sans Bluetooth and they are rubbish. They're just rebranded from another make, can't remember which. The digital tuning on the radio is useless. Never holds frequency.
