Tree Rigging: The Plan

Here is a video I initially produced on retention lines. It didnt all go as we intended but our plan, rigging, and equipment choices ensured a desirable outcome. I found a different lesson and focused the video on that.

The tree barber chairs, it wasnt expected and could have been prevented had it been identified as a potential hazard. The point is that a good plan, rigging system and appropriate equipment choices created redundancy which ensured the result.

 

No person or method is perfect.

Only recently, I took it home for a few days because my bosses were being pricks.

Tough one with that hinge on the side leaner:

 

Too thick and it can barber chair (evidently)

 

Too thin and the hinge could have sheared anyway.

 

The safe control of the rigging made sure it went where you wanted it. Impressive. Belt and braces.

Rich it was a 'Murphy' step cut, although Nick explains that the cutter has been using this cut before Murphy was in nappies. Lol
