Show us your Arb Diggers please.

I have a tiger grip from approved, with mini diggers it's hard to turn branches horizontal but with a fixed grab you can turn them vertical with out hitting cab. Better for working in tight spots, also you can rake branches and really dive the grab into a bundle of brash. That makes sense to me

I have never seen a grab like that working thanks for sharing

What spacings are your tines on that rake? That one for digbits is good because it's profile is much like a bucket so it's easy to scoop material, most other ones the tines are not nearly as curved as that one.

Probably about 4inch space between.

Eddie, what are your thoughts on the smaller case machines, in particular the 5 tonne machine circa 2009

Also looked at a 2010 Hyundai robed 55-9 that was very well specced, but have heard bad things about them

There's never really been a Case presence in this area until now, so one manufacturer I've had little experience with apart from the larger machines which are excellent.

Hyundai like Doosan etc, just seem to get better and better as years go by? They are sadly forced to fit more technology for emissions etc every few years, and like all manufactures this can throw up the odd blip. Hitachi hit a bit of a wall on some dash 5 models that nobody would have ever predicted.

My first choice for a 5 tonne machine of similar year to you describe has to be the Kubota kx161-3, simply bombproof machines.

Eddie.

After a bit of technical advice please...

a) To change the hydraulic filters on a TB016 do I undo the big 40mm nuts on the tube that bends around into the tank and then undo the 4 bolts to lift the circular plate out? I'm assuming the filter is under that?

b) It's time to replace the travel reduction gear oil... they stipulate SAE 90.... I've got SAE 80/90.... is SAE 80/90 the same as SAE 90??

c) I've got a full dipper bush & pin kit to fit; are there any tolerances for the shim/ packing washers?

cheers, steve

b] 80/90 will do it

c] as tight as possible if you've got to hammer the shim in its too tight

Thanks.

Sussed the filter layout.... they are 11 and 12 in this parts diagram.

Looks like I need to drain the tank to change the bottom one

The bottom filter is the suction filter and the top one is the oil return, I think Takeuchi just recommend giving the bottom one a clean and replace top one. Either way it's a pain in the backside!

Yep, certainly is a crud design. The pressure relief nut is also a proper batch to undo!.... took me all yesterday morning to just do that.

I've got both both filters so may as well fit them both.

cheers, Steve
