Not sure where you found those figures but Kx17-4 was 20kw but the newer Kx030-4 has dropped to 17.7, it is the only one that had 4 cylinders though. Have you looked at the Volvo EC27D Doobin- might be a contender?

Yes, all 2.5 tonners have either 15 or 18kw engines now due to Euro 4 or 5 and the need to keep them under the limits at which add blue is needed.

The Volvo I like the build quality of, but it's now only 14.8 KW sadly...

Not trying to put you off but suspect paper specs might not stand up to real world performance. Local groundwork contractor ran bobcat 2.8ts for years but had a bad experience with his latest which was a Bobcat zero 2.8t (not sure exact model no) said he couldn’t live with it and ended up trading it in for a Hitachi (which I’ve used as is a good machine zx27, but think they’ve stopped doing conventional tails in this size now).

I think you will bitterly regret going for a zero 2.8t for arb work. If access is that much of an issue you’d just put your smaller machine in there anyway. The great thing about the Yanmar sv26 is it is 1550mm wide AND conventional tail- stable as they get. Less HP than the bobcat but bigger displacement....

Fully agree re ZTS- the Bobcat E27 is the CTS version of the E27z with an extra 3KW (1.3l engine compared to 1l) and huge spec- 3 and 5.1km/hr on tracking, rollers for aux lines and boom swing, 24KN breakout, 3.2m dump height, and...currently 5 years 0%!!!

Have you priced one up? What sort of money are you looking at?

£27k with hitch and buckets. Top end of the market, but with 0% that gives me 4k to play with that would otherwise go on interest.

Ha ha, I’m considering having both tbh... I’m testing the market with the 6 tonner - if it sells then I’ll put more money into a new one, but if it stays I’ll happily keep it as it is a great tool! I’d rather trade up than give the dosh to the tax man tbh, but I’m not desperate to move it on.

I’ve been advised to stick it on Mascus as it’ll more than likely sell abroad pretty quickly apparently. We will see!

Yeah I’ve heard the same- kit is moving big time over to the continent. I guess exchange rate is favourable at the mo. I had been dithering over a lovely Case CX80 that came up for sale on 600mm steels, owner op etc. Finally phone up to put a down payment on it and it had been sold over the phone to Finland.
