I'm Current college student and looking at firewood for a secondary income aswell as working for a tree surgeon! Is it worth doing or is it too much hard work and myther? Bearing in mind il be cutting with chainsaw and splitting with an axe! Cheers people! Judging what some of you lot say it sounds like it can be a good source of beer money! :thumbup:

Well I made a bit of a fool of myself :blushing:

 

Turns out the Mrs got really annoyed that I might have ended up with £400 for 4 tonnes of wood so she phoned the arb. He was mortified when he found out that it wasn't clear that this was the first lot so that I could get on with some sawing. In fact there's another minimum of 8 tonnes to come with no more softwood, it's going to be pretty much all Ash, Hawthorn with some Oak too.

 

I guess that £400 for 12 tonnes (9-10 in hardwood) is a whole lot better of an outcome! :thumbup:
