3.5t tipper chunky off-road tyres thread?

Help please guys...

 

A while ago there was a thread, not even sure what it was about, but someone had fitted some serious tyres to the rear end of a tipper and said where they got them. I've searched but can't find it.

 

Can anyone link to the thread or the tyres in question please?

We've got Insa Turbo Dakars on the back of our Ivecos - I think 205 wide.

My Tranny rears are 185's.

I was worried about rubbing with fitting wider tyres. I'm pretty sure James didn't have any issues though.

 

My mate is a manager at Watlings. He talked me out of fitting anything too chunky, reckoned they would wear out really quick on tarmac, which is where I am most.

Fedima do a mud and snow tyre in 185/75/R16 which are bang on for my Tranny.

I'm tempted to get some anyway.

 

A 4x4 it will never be, but it would be nice not to get stuck on wet grass!

I say that's likely true of the cheap remoulded being mentioned in here, but a set of BFG MTs will last for ages on Tarmac. Mine still have plenty of tread left after a year and imagine will still be serviceable at the end of next, they to off road a lot too.

I think you're spot on Billy, but they don't do anything like the sizes.

 

I've heard of lads getting over 40k off a set of BFG AT's.
