Look on Radmore & Tucker website, much bigger £ diff between echo and husq i think

Mine was from the local dealer where the husqvarna was £595inc vat and the echo was £575 inc vat. With such a small price difference I personally am more inclined to buy the saw with the better known name. That is just me

Though. If anyone had the echo I would be very willing to try one out and see what they are like! :biggrin:

What is the equivalent oregon bar mount for the Dolmar 6100 does anyone know?

OREGON® Hand Held Chain Saw Replacement Parts

V hard trying to figure that over onto the oregon product selector guide; think my 5105 dolly is a normal husky mount... will go have a look...

Also, would be interested in one of those lighter sugi bars (with resin bits?) to fit as I want to go 3/8 on the 5105 from .325...

So two questions,

Are the dolmar and makita versions the same, apart from the colour of course? I can't understand why they wouldn't be..

Can I buy a dolmar in the uk? I'd prefer a red saw to a blue one.

No, there are differences between Dol and Mak, atleast in the 5105/5030 which would make me choose Dolly, principally a different carb which imo is pretty major! Think either in this thread or another dolmar one I've elaborated on the differences further...

I have heard that they are considering changing from Mak to Dol in the UK which wd be fantastic, but thd dealer network needs sorting out. I have been importing them from the US for a while now and no regrets or parts / warranty issues cos they don't break!

I think you are comparing the old model makita with the new dolmar, the makita site now lists both the old and the new ranges.

The makita spec:

And the dolmar: DOLMAR - PS-6100

Same saw I think? the old models are different and I suspect the dolmar range has moved on faster than the makita..

My Dol PS5105 and Mak 5030 are both 2012 models; I will pop down mst and look at the latest ea mak carb. Will add photo's...

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but it's something handy everyone should have, uh, handy;
