what size trailer do you use?

Many years ago before I got my first chipper, I had an Ifor Williams 16' trailer, the amount of stuff you could get on it was incredible!!!

 

Got banned from the council waste transfer site, as when I used to chuck stuff down the hole, that was then pushed into the container by a hydraulic ram, the brash (mostly long lengths of Laylandii) would jam the mechanism and the had to clear it with their JCB.

Only advice I would give from personal experience is that a trailer the same width as the towing vehicle is nicer to drive and reverse with. I used to have a 10x5 trailer on my navara and it was quite a nice little set up.

Ive got a 8x4 trailer really nice but looking to ugrade to a ifor caged tipper ! Still working out new or second hand !

If I can afford it I try and go new. You can spend a £1000 on tyres brakes bearings cables etc and it still looks tatty.

I dont think I could trust myself with those solid side extensions. Just so tempting to fill er up

It is a 3.5t trailer so we can fill it no problem, tows fine.

How much does it weigh when full of oak rings. I have a 16ft ifor with low sides and we need to be careful with that. Volume is 3 cu metres.

Yes might not fill full of oak or beech but generally its ok, i think it can carry just over 2 .25 TONS.
