Contract Processing

Had first day out with my new processor contracting for a friend today. Went well and they were pretty happy with output of the machine and the amount we did in pretty crap weather conditions.

Do others on here do contract processing? I am hoping to pick up quite a bit more to help warrent the machine. Do you send the machine out with an operator?

I only intend on going out with my machine, a few reasons but mainly being it takes a good few days to get use to the machine and I will look after it better then anyone!

Helped a lot today that the 2 guys who's wood it was was helping and being organised. And had a decent loader to load processor

I've been out quite a few times with my road tow processor. I lent it out once without an operator and they soon knackered the chain. Always goes out with operator now (me). You will find you will do work for the same person for a couple of years then they go and buy there own. Buy a big umbrella so you can work in rain or sun

my log deck folds up and attaches to the back of the processor for transport, so yes you can travel with one! my friend was loading with his forklift. hard to say how much we did as it all went it a big pile in the shed, but my friend estimate it was around 25-30 of his trailer loads which is 1.4cube a time. That was in 5hrs.
