Good Morning All...Is there a better way to clear Brambles than Chainsaw?

100m long,2m wide,2m tall,stems thicker than thumb base,against 1.8m brick wall........................................pedestrian access only! I have a BCS Tracmaster,so would maybe consider an attachment?

Brambles not on Clients' ground so extreme solutions!?! not permitted.

Mulching blade on strimmer, easy.

the big stems at bottom cut them out and use later for walking sticks as other post blade on strimmer and go down from top not into side of them will chop them all up into bits. do that lot in a couple of hours.

It's a lot easier if you have someone with a rake pulling them away from you as you go in with the brush cutter. Saves you from getting all tangled up in the thorns.

 

I cut self set acacia trees in the same way. You really don't want to get caught up in those blighters.

A robust/bigger sized brushcutter fitted with a mulcher head, lots of downward strokes-will make short work of it,check out mulcher head clips on youtube and see what the bloke does...good luck, Nick Pearson, Timberline-Roe Ltd.

long handled hedge cutter is what I use cut across the bottom then out in sections like a cake! just done 1.5 acres and got about .5 left to do that were over 8' tall

When I was on the schools years ago we used to use a walk behind Hayter flail mower on big areas of brambles. It was a beast of a thing and chewed them to a fine mulch.

Walk behind flail would be my preferred option for a relatively narrow but large area. Much easier than waving a strimmer. Smaller areas a stimmer and mulching blade would be spot on.
