The day someone calls me a mewper rather than a climber will be a sad day

Although mewps do have there place (back at the yard)

ditto

but some jobs i do wish for one, mainly when im feeling lazy.

I think this year I have used the mewp three times, all on conifer which made the job easier.

I very much enjoy climbing trees. I would not hesitate to use the mewp on trees that are dodgey like this one I priced the other day.

:confused1: Thats NOT "dodgey"!!:confused1:

Let's put it another way, I wouldn't climb and rig off it without anchoring into another tree. If anyone climbed and anchored into that tree and that tree only, I would call them stupid not brave. Nothing macho about risking your life when there's no need :001_smile:

its got nothing to do with safety for me, if it is still standing i will climb it,if its blown i will climb it, but if i could get a big mewp into every job, that means i could get a big lifter, a big chipper in as well and rattle loads of jobs. just look at masterblasters pics. i got into this job so i could climb trees. been there done that, now i want to make money as quickly and as easily as possible, with as little abuse to my body as possible.

I know someone who died from a fall in a MEWP (bucket failed) but none that have died from climbing, therefore I see climbing as a safer option.

I know a hell of a lot more climbers than MEWP operators.
