Telescopic pole saw comparison?

Only used the stihl like others couldn't live with out it.

Have a look at the Kombi. this is much more versatile

anything less than 35cc is a waste of money if you are going

to put it to good use.

 

I disagree. The only thing you need more power for is strimming, and if you do lots of strimming you need a proper clearing saw.

 

I've run an FS-85, and now an FS-70 (both 27cc) on a 12" polesaw, bed tiller and hedgecutter and it is plenty of power.

I have a stihl 131 4mix its ok, powerful but the 4mix can be trouble.

 

If I was buying again I would get the echo pole pruner ,2stroke and better built than the new stihl.

 

Simply replace your engine with a new two mix one. FS-70 available now, next year will probably see the release of higher CC 2-mix engine.

I've had the Stihl pole saws since them came out, the first ones would wear out the roller bearings on the shaft after 6 months and were expensive to replace and fix, I've had the 4

Mix 1 now for about 4 years I think, it's never given me any bother and runs like new.

I use the hedge cutter head on it a lot which adds much more stress to the shaft when extended, so there is a little twist or bend in it, but that's through the abuse I give it, and it's not made for that.

I run the echo pole pruner good enough for what I want.....used a stihl one not a lot of difference the stihl is just a bit heavier and vibrates a bit on big branch cuts.....imo

Yes they are telescopic they have just brought out a 30cc model. Great with the hedge cutter attachment and an ELH.

Ok, so all this talk of fitting this engine to make it a good pruner, correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea here is to pay 600 quid for the initial pruner, throw the engine away and spend another 350 quid on a real engine?
