idle to low on a 550xp?

it only does it once it gets hot, after about 5 mins of use

 

Start by having it die, do what Gary says, if you have a spark, undo the fuel cap and refit, then try to start it, if neither of these are the culprit, pull the plug and exhaust and have a look in the exhaust port, if that's all shiny and bright, it's the carb end!

already checked and then changed the starter coil and now its sparking like a good one, had the exhaust off and checked the piston too and its all nice and shiny through there too so i think i'll try a new carb see if that changes things!

If the coil was buggered then the carb will need taking to a dealer to be plugged in, the 'beauty' of a computer carb, if any electrical part goes, it's gonna have a knock on effect, just like cars :/

Eddy, Tom is talking about a none auto tune though. There's two saws being discussed here and I got confused too! Lol!

 

Mmmm I got a bit lost too thought it was a 550 A/T but there is a 346 in there somewhere I think . Thats why I said " take it back ( 550 ) and get it plugged in ....:001_smile:
