Hi, i've started to do a bit of private weekend work and was wondering what, if any insurance i need. I know it's public liability but can anyone reccommend a company and what sort of cover i need. Also health/ personal injury insurance can anyone reccommend a company/cover and would it be hard to get cover due to a previous injury and would i be able to get covered should something like that happen again. Thanks in advance.

As far as public liability is concerned, for a bit of weekend work, ask yourself "do I really need it?" What sort of work are you talking about? If push comes to shove you can get the client to claim off their house hold insurance.

Not everyone will agree but until you really work on your tod maybe keep your powder dry.

At the min they're all topping out hedges or easy take downs so i think until i start doing bigger jobs i'll go without but when i do i'll probably reconsider. does anyone know what sort of price it is for personal health/ injury insurance. i've been quoted about £12 a month from aviva, is that about right? cheers.
