Everything has it's place in the market and I'm sure that the Bearcat range have been good to some people. Consider this though, what will they be worth when you want to trade up to a mainstream machine? Who is the local dealer for spares or service work? Will it be capable in fulfilling your needs for long?

If it ticks your boxes, place your hid and I wish you much pleasure with your purchase! Usual rules apply, ask the seller for the serial number and contact the original/local dealer, do you research, visit and try the machine and don't get auction fever!

We have had a bearcat for years mainly for dealing with hedging and general arisings around our own place. Spares are no problem, they come in days from the US if they can't be found over here. Previous owner had worked it for 5 years on tree work. He had replaced the stress control which had played up from new but had had no other problems. Big V Honda starts every time and is very easy to service. Not one for the big boys at all but as a general purpose hitch up and go it is ultra reliable and just the ticket for estates.

I take the view that if it won't fit in the bearcat it should be logged for firewood!:001_smile:

It's way too much for a bearcat!! I sold a 5" bearcat in good nick for £1500. Put £2250 on that camon 250 and you will prob own it and will be 10 times the machine those bearcats are.

Not all chippers are equal, the popular ones are popular for good reasons.

I have heard people burning Apple or other twisty brash because there poor chipper was not up to the job.
