I'm thinking of buying this chipper, just want to know how they perform from people who use them day in day out and if there's any issues with them.

No feedback on the greenmech? just want to know if they are good machines and how they compare to a tw150.

Very good machine mate. The roller setup is soooo much better than the equivalent tw, so much more crushing power. Ime it will easily out perform the 150

Only non standard maintenance issue I knew of in 2+ years of using one daily was the throttle cable froze in its sheath and some heavy handed fool snapped it.

Thanks for the replies, It's from my local dealer so no worries about its history etc. It performed well when I demo'd it.

Run greenmech for a good few years now good well made machines with good factory support, easily better than a tw.

 

 

The only thing you need to watch is the reps

We have two of them. I think they're really good chippers, can't think of any problems we've had in the last four years that weren't our own fault. Throttle cable sometimes goes but apart from that, top notch. Circular blades too, so you can get a bit longer out of them before you need to have them sharpened.

Absolutely brilliant machine, had mine over 3 years with no problems.

I would personally never go back to TW.

Can't speak for other makes.

Our local hire centre bought one about 18 months ago and we take it out pretty regularily. It's a cracking wee machine and does all asked of it. The only problem we ever encountered with it was an overheating issue during the really hot spell in July when the radiator screen clogged up wiith dry material causing things to cook up a bit. Problem easily solved by checking and clearing the screen more regularily in those hot dry conditions (which we probably should have been doing anyway but we're just not used to more than 2 hot dry days back to back in NW Ireland!)
