If they are paying £200 a cube for snob logs then got to be done. If they are paying the average £100 a cube then wtf is going on with the world. You don't charge by weight and the bark is not taking up volume. I am sure normal people are prepared to collect a few bits in their dust pan when THEY have finished stacking.

 

Exactly. Often a dustpan-full of scrapings on the driveway with the logs after they've been tipped - never ever had anyone want it removed or tidied up.

I find that logs made with a processor have way more than a dustpan full of trash. Up to 20 % trash by volume.

 

I like the beet cleaner idea.

 

I guestimated about 10% when we were working out whether there was enough energy in the waste to dry the logs.

 

I wanted to try something like this lifter that sold on ebay 261240252757, I used to see them at farm sales for about 8o quid in the 80s
