I had a new engine put in my CH25PH Entec woodchipper last december, and late friday night i think the flywheel bearing went...cant be sure as it was dark and i havnt had chance to get to the yard and have a look.....any advice as to where i could get a bearing from or is it a specialist job...also would it be expensive and where would it be best to take it?

Thanks in advance for your replies lads

PM Bill on here, along with other issues the flywheel bearing has gone on his so he knows the prices etc for changing it. IIRC he said orange plant wanted 3 hours labour plus the cost of the bearing.

The bearings whilst readily available should be fitted by a trained chipper technician. We see lots of people who buy the bearings from ourselves or other sources ,fit them themselves or by a "trained mechanic" who come back to us after about a month looking to have them replaced and balanced properly.

Anyone can fit bearings but its the specialist knowledge, technicians and tools that we have available that gives us our motto below, if I can help ring me on 01423 359777 for further advice

It must be a bit of a poor design if you cant just slap a new set of bearings on without having to balance everything up!

Btw I am in no doubt that your are exactly right in what your saying just wondering why? :001_smile:

I have fitted many a bearing on agricultural equipment before but never on a flywheel chipper, i think my local bearing company can get the bearing for me and i was going to have a go myself but i think i will take it to a specialist, thanks for all of your advice, I will get it right first time rather than having a go myself - top advice:001_smile:

Nothing wrong with the CH25pH Iv'e had mine nearly 4 years, and never had a problem with it yet. Clean filters, Change all oil, don't abuse it; and it will run and run. A bit dear on petrol though.
