Was walking up to a conifer hedge i was about to cut out, along some rough ivy covered ground. Then stepped on a rusty manhole cover which had completly disintagrated but was covered by ivy so you couldnt see it.

 

Down i went, was about 8ft deep i was lucky not to injure my self or have a running saw in my hand.

I spat on my fingers and tried to thaw out the connection but as my "equipment" was retracting into my Trou,I had to pull the Biner off.

Needless to say,some skin came too.

Thats not really my style, im not really into sueing unless it was really really necesery, even then i dont think i would enjoy the process. Some might say im the dream employe

I know what you mean, It wouldnt have been my first thought. I didnt mean your employer anyway, I was on about the land owner. I had just had a conversation about a compensation claim for a crack in a pavement, costing the councils loads.

 

 

If it had been my 7 yr old son who fell down then thats another matter though.

The council here have had claims like that to, the company im with work closly with the local tree officer and as often these cracks are caused by roots pushing the path up we normally have to deal with the suspect tree. Or atleast carry out a report into why the tree is doing what its doing, and what health the trees in, to us its common sence but the council have to have a document to show for it all. Did that make any sense? Im sure you can get my drift.
