Anyone got any idea of the price of a Thor mignon 10.5 t petrol engined splitter recently? Any alternatives considered. Must be petrol engined and movable. Looking for quick ish splitter for rings mainly although might billet smaller stuff and crosscut on Oregon easy saw horse type thing.

How long does it take to produce a cubic metre of logs with the multipla?

I think I payed about £1550 with delivery.I can manage about 1 and bit cubes an hour if I can get every thing set up to work in the method I use.

Its all about organising a methodical routine that works best for you.

I did a lot of research on various splitters and glat I settled with the fuelwood multipla.

I too am after a log splitter, probably tow behind petrol. Tia, seems to have a very quick cycle time which is imperative for commercial use. Is yours tow behind, difficult to tell from video?

What are the pros and cons of having the wedge moving on the piston rod compared with the piston rod pushing the wood through the wedge?

good thinking i built mine fixed wedge so the knotty grainy wood wont take control of the ram twisting/straining the machine as much well that how i done mine & it works fine through the twangy knarley tuff stuff anything really tuff gets the saw treatment to fit my fire seems to last longer on the fire too

The multipla in the video is mounted in a Ifor williams p6 trailer. trailer has a solid galvenised side which is about 10" high and then has removable mesh sides which obvisiouly you take off when splitting. It meens you can split from both sides of the trailer just by swinging the splitter around,so you don't have to turn the whole trailer .

On this you can tow with 4x4 and then onto Quad so you can get anywhere!
