At £183 you'd be bloomin lucky to get one for more than a days trial.

Love mine. From using a Petzl Vertex Vent to this. The Petzl now feels sloppy on my head in comparison, and a bit unwieldy.

Very comfortable. Easy enough to adjust. Much less snagging on small limbs with the ear defenders sliding into the lid.

The other plus point is you get to look like a Power Ranger!

The pressure of the ear defenders against your head is adjustable, slack defs are next to useless regardless of make.

But even so, I wouldn't wear it next to a chipper all day. If I'm doing that I throw a Husky helmet on.

For chainsaw noise I've not found it a problem at all.

What model Vent did you have? I've had the Kask all variations of the vent and tried a Protos I didn't find it any better than a vent, the latest version of the vent is spot on for me and is a great industrial design simple easy to maintain and does its job.

It's nothing special and doesn't warrant it's extra cost especially if it does not offer sufficient protection against chippers meaning I have to buy a second helmet for chipper use. I look for utilitarian kit that works and is reliable, personally I wouldn't work with anyone who uses a Protos helmet as they are prima Donna's who doesn't believe in feeding the chipper.
