Interesting curve. Mine is hooked up to a power supply with voltage and current readout (you can set one and monitor the other). I set it at 12V and find that 2A is about right. Any more power risks putting heat in to the teeth.

10 amps sounds about right.

Watts = volts x amps

so 12v x 10 amps = 120 watts.

120 watts isn't much power at all

You could use a jump starter pack like the ones from Halfords or Machine Mart, they have battery leads and an accessory socket and are easily carried. We use one for a camping battery and I use it for a 12v soldering iron sometimes.
