  1. Someone tried my account also. The I.P is from China.
  2. That sounds like a bit of a plan, I have a heap of 15mm plastic water pipe here and speedfit quick connectors. Could just use a speedfit fitting to join it! nice one will try that tomorrow
  3. That looks good mate, was thinking something a little more portable for taking to gardens. Some kind of plastic frame around the top that would just support the empty bag and keep it open till it gets a bit of stuff in it and supports itself. (if that makes sense)
  4. Hi all Anyone know of the name of the doodas that keep ton sacks open for ease of filling? Or where i can order such a thing? Would make life that bit easier Cheers James
  5. this one? Ferm Power Air Compressor 6L 180l/m 8bar 116psi
  6. what model one do you have spudulike? do you reckon the clarke mini air wiz would be up to it? 1.58cfm air displacement 2.8 Bar maximum working pressure Clarke Mini Air Compressor - Wiz - Machine Mart and how noisy is your one? cheers
  7. yep wish they did a 2hp belt drive one...
  8. Powerplus 50L 2HP 7.8CFM Vertical Air Compressor POWX1750 this one looks ok, i think a factory in china churn all these out and then they all get re badged, looks just like the stanley one for twice the price... bet it's super noisy though then there is also this belt drive one... Wolf Dakota 100 - 14 CFM, 3HP Air Compressor | UKHS.tv nice spec and cheap BUT i read people have problems with it tripping fuses as it's a 3hp and draws a fair bit when you start it up.
  9. hi carpenter1 i have never used an air compressor before so can i ask a few silly questions? how long does that take take to fill? if your using the blow gun cleaning your saw, does it fire up to refill often? thanks
  10. hello all I'm after an air compressor to help me cleaning chainsaws, blowing carbs etc. can anyone recommend a decent one that is fairly quiet, can't be doing with a super loud thing firing up randomly and annoying the neighbours. from a bit of research i can see direct drive ones are noisiest but cheapest, belt drive ones are a bit quieter but pricier and super quiet ones have a low cfm and are mega pricey..... anyone tried one of the small ones like this: Clarke Mini Air Compressor - Wiz - Machine Mart i realize it would be a constant noise as there is no tank but at 55db that's not too bad compared to a direct drive one at 100db firing up randomly! would something like that do the job? or should i just spend a few hundred on a 2hp belt driven one? thanks
  11. hi mate you mean the Tormek SVH 320 not 350? just looking into getting a tormek t7 myself, looks a nice piece of kit!!
  12. beer fags and kebabs Thanks for the kit list mate, very much appreciated! I don't mind spending money to get a real nice harness
  13. Thanks Will, book ordered! Don't worry I want to put a lot of research in before just climbing a tree. Thanks What a feller, started out on some knots earlier tonight, will be keeping a few feet of rope by my side 24/7 from now on I hear you about the cs38 course but I always like to get as much research in about any given subject before doing a course, it's just the way I've always done it I feel like it gives me more time to soak up the instructors information and have a rough idea what there actually on about
  14. Hello All You all maybe sic of this question by now What's the best way to get into climbing trees? Ideally i would like to start out climbing trees for fun with a view to doing a CS38 etc in the future (in a year or so) after i gain a lot experience with ropes / knots etc, I don't wan't to just turn up for a cs38 with absolutely no knowledge of knots and climbing.. What equipment or "stater kit" would you recommend for me? How did you start the learning process? What things can i start learning / researching right now, which knots etc. I have a friend who is a level 3 rope access offshore that would like to join me on my first climbs as a safety measure, but I'd like to hear tips and kit recommendations from you all Thanks (and go easy on me!)
  15. Anywhere mate, takes the same nails as the paslode im350:) If I end up getting boxes of nails that come with gases I sell the gas on eBay
  16. My dewalt nail gun is amazing.. Far superior to my old paslode im350 Home-Products-Powertools-Nailers and Staplers - Cordless Nailers-Framing Nailer - DEWALT Battery lasts ages as its a brushless motor, best of all, no gas or servicing and it fires 90mm ring shank nails where as the im350 only do 90mm smooth nails. This is definitely a game changing nailer, won't be long until its copied by paslode, makita etc
  17. Plenty accommodation all over Ullapool on that day, there is bed and breakfasts on just about every street!
  18. If your going to be in Ullapool at the end of September there is a music festival on called loopallu... If your into that sort of thing? Google search loopallu for the listings. The tent for loopallu gets set up about 20 metres from our firewood shed... So I shall just sit there and soak it all up for free
  19. I charge £20 per hour for clearings, some people moan but you have to remind them of all the overheads etc and then let them decide (no one has ever declined), other people say I charge to little and then tip well.. Endless supply of clearing work if I want it.
  20. yeah will do the same.. ended up ordering this one. Clarke JS5IN1 5 in 1 Jump Start - Machine Mart
  21. sometimes i write before i think
  22. sorry, should have worded that question better lol To power the grinder from a jumper, does the jumper have to have a good charge in it or can it just be plugged into the elecy 240v and pass power through to the grinder... hope that makes sense
  23. the jump starters.. i take it they need a good charge in them to work? or can they just be plugged in to a elecy supply ?
