I cut some green , living conifer 2 weeks ago . Just a single trunk . Cut it to log length and split it and put it on my log store roof . With this weather its ready now ! 15% on the gauge .......

Brill we did some Sycamore last week . Ringed it up at the yard . Left the rings open to the elements and it cracking like mad a week later :biggrin:

Pity the poor sawmillers - we can't cut anything of any value at the moment as it will just get destroyed by the hot dry air!

due to last years wet weather all this seasons cut and split and undercover in preparation or the rain!!! it's very cool under the logshed roof!!!!

What do the sawmillers do in countries that have a climate like this for much longer periods of time?

 

Other work - no one cuts high value hardwoods outside of winter on the continent.
