I've always worn them and think they are ace (super comfortable from new, hard wearing, waterproof) but the last couple of pairs have split in the sole where the steel insole is. I don't know if this issue has been addressed - if not I don't think I'll buy another pair (to be fair to Haix they replaced them under warranty without any quibble, but the replacements have now done the same and I'm too embarrassed to complain again!).

what was wrong with em? were they the P'pros or the others - i've heard bad reviews on some of their other boots but after getting more than 2 years out of each of my last 3 pairs im tempted to stick with em. Though the weight is a bit of an issue - sarted getting plantar fasciitis so i could be tempted to go a bit lighter in the foot department (as well as bin my old steel gaffs)

- but thats for a different thread now back to the boots....)

Yep P'pros same problems, sole splitting, leaking and general bad wear and tear. My Airstreams are holding out much better had them 2 year

Stein phantoms are amazing! Bloody comfy and last!!!!

If you are after a bargin pair of boots can't go Erin with the stein explorers! Need to treat them on occasion but light .... Really comfy and great value for money! Phone F.R.Jones and sons or look at the website.... They stock both:)

I've almost always had Pros too. But a good alternative I've been looking at for a next pair are Arbortec's Fellhunter. It's like a super version of the Pro.

Fellhunter Xpert Chainsaw Boot Class 3 - Arboriculture - Footwear

This is the Class 3 boot, there is a class two version and the prices on Arbortec's site are much higher than in shops.
