Selective herbicide for mare's tail?

Kurtail works well and quickly but is not selective.

Have'nt had mares tail in this part of the wood in years its all of a sudden reappeared, it has also started sneaking into the fields in one or two places bordering wet areas we fenced out for the wildlife, if worst comes too it will have to use the Kurtail or Pure reap

Been doing some more looking, its horse tail not mare's tail that I've got but thing is, I was always told it was poisonous,tops mildy and roots lethally so but have'nt found any mention of it, have found interesting article on them here though http://http://www.sherriff-amenity.com/technical.asp?newsid=3

Horse tail and Mares tail are easily confused in name but not by plant, they are different.

I think one of them is an aquatic plant, but not sure which one

Mares tail is the aquatic one, I now know, always thought they were one and the same

just read the mapp for grazon should do the trick does not name it but will kill gorse,broom so should do horse tail. try a firm called rigby talyor very good see what they can offer. if grazon is not available was being withdrawn.

Pro green website says that kurtail is the replacement product for the grazon not sure if its the same stuff just re named

I'm not convinced Grazon did a right lot and Kurtail isn't a miracle cure either.

Weedazol deffo knocks it about for a few years.

Grazon is still available, I've been buying it through Progreen this year, its now called Grazon Pro, I have given the horse tail a go with it as had some left while I was down the field spraying thistles so will see what it does.

Yes they are two very different chemicals for different jobs, I have had very good results with Kurtail from progreen.

It is made for the job.

Grazon is not up to the job of killing Horse tail imho.

I am sure there is some videos on youtube giving information about it.
