Got me thinking...

After doing a small hedge job at work today it got me wondering why I couldn't do jobs like this myself?

I'm in quite a good position where I'm still living with parents and my boss asks what days I'm free to work and has plenty of work for me. Ideally I'd like to get to a stage where I'm doing 3 days with him doing proper arb work and then 3 days for myself doing my thing...

I was thinking if I got a trailer, combi tool which allows me to strim/hedgecut, rakes, blower etc I could do light tree work/landscaping/hedging etc...

I was thinking If I get the gear together then get a load of flyers printed off.

What other gear would you suggest? Maybe a mower?

If any lads have done the same I'd appreciate any advice you can give me :)

Nothing wrong with a little bit of ambition. Just make sure the guy you work for is ok with it. If he isn't, ask him for full employment, or proper part time hours and pro rata holiday etc entitlements. You have to think of your future, where you want to be in say five or ten years time. Running your own show with lads working for you maybe? Then they'll want to run off and set up against you too. Circle of Life.
