Ticks!

Today I was walking around one of the woods I work in.

It's a SSSI and NNR and I do a lot of work for Natural England there.

I was looking for suitable trees to mount time expansion recording devices in, to monitor bat activity.

I have always found this site to be the worst I have ever come across for Ticks.

I must have killed 250-300 1st instar ticks and 150 2nd instar with a few later instar.

For those of you who work in the woods, how many do you tend to pick up and how do you deal with them.

Personally, with the numbers I seem to pick up here, I have to just run a lighter up and down my legs, and burn them off.

I REALLY HATE THEM!
