Having used both Garths roof mount 560 for various bits and a 560 11t euro trailer for chestnut coppice extraction I realy can't fault the botex, I suppose if I were nit picking they are a bit clunky and agricultural but I've never felt the need for more lift and they are solidly built unlike some of the dedicated forestry stuff that looks as though its designed to snap if it sees a decent chunk of wood :)

Chap I know, bumped into yesterday; his 560TL crane snapped in half recently!

I can quite belielve it. I saw one round here a few years ago snapped off near the kingpost.

I also know of one less than a year old that needed a complete new dipper after a few weeks (metal on metal where it extends) and at less than a year old has a lot of play in the joints and is getting some more therapy under warranty shortly. If I didn't know better I'd have said it had been used hard with no grease - but I know it hasn't.

The older one's seemed to age a lot better IMO. Though the very old ones (the yellow and red ones) were a pig as they wouldn't lift over the front bay - everything had to go over the rear pins and get slid up. Thankfully they sorted that.

On the whole though, as an all rounder with a big lift, they take some beating.

That's the 2/3rd time I've herd of that happening. On Thursday I found the pin that holds the dipper to the main boom hand broke it's roll pin and got for about 1 1/2" of walkies out the other side of the crane. The bolts around the pin all came very loose in March too.
